Segmenting networks flexibly

Two NAT switches of the 2000 family

The new NAT switches of the 2000 family are particularly individually configurable and can be used flexibly.

Phoenix Contact expands the portfolio of the Switch 2000 product range through the addition of three variants with NAT function.

NAT switches combine the functions of a Managed Switch and a NAT router in a single device, making them ideal for simple integration of systems with identical IP address ranges in higher-level networks.

The new device range includes various NAT mechanisms for translating IP addresses: 1:1 NAT, virtual NAT, IP masquerading und port forwarding. In addition, the eight ports of the switch can be divided up flexibly, e.g. as a classic NAT switch with a WAN port and seven LAN ports, or with several WAN ports for connecting a machine to several higher-level networks, such as a production and diagnostics network.

In order to attain a high degree of reliability both within the system and when connecting to higher-level networks, the switches support various redundancy mechanisms on the LAN and WAN side. Depending on the application, there are variants with optimized function configuration for the series production of machines or with an expanded switch functional scope as well as industry-specific approvals and gigabit communication.

The new NAT switches replace the existing FL NAT SMN device range.
