New system-independent I/Os

28.11.2019

New plug-in I/Os from Phoenix Contact for the Axioline F I/O system

Flexible, plug-in I/Os

In time for SPS 2019, Phoenix Contact is extending its Axioline I/O system portfolio to include plug-in, system-independent I/O Smart Elements featuring a compact design and up to 16 channels.

The elements featuring IP20 degree of protection are inserted into an Axioline F backplane. Backplane modules allow four or six Smart Elements to be inserted and integrated into the Axioline F local bus. Thanks to a double row of slots, two I/O elements can be placed one above the other, thus allowing different functions to be accommodated in an overall width of 15 mm with up to 32 channels. I/O functions can be freely selected and combined by the user.

In addition to standard I/O functions, the market launch includes a four-channel IO-Link master and PROFIsafe modules used to acquire and output safety-related signals. Additional Axioline F I/O modules can be used to add more functions to an Axioline station. Mechanical installation is particularly quick thanks to the double and tool-free insertion method: the I/O elements are simply inserted into the backplane modules before inserting the conductors via Push-in connection.
