OPC (Open Process Control) servers are used for data exchange between PC Worx programmable controllers and OPC-compatible visualization systems as well as SNMP-compatible (Simple Network Management Protocol) devices. The ODP (Open Data Port) enables you to communicate openly with Phoenix Contact controllers.
Virtually all infrastructure components are now configured and monitored using the SNMP protocol. The FL SNMP OPC server from Phoenix Contact also integrates these devices into higher-level OPC-based visualizations.
The SNMP protocol has an integrated MIB browser. It is used to select the values to be visualized.
The OPC interface is used for data exchange and offers a manufacturer-neutral way of connecting visualizations to the control technology. An AX OPC server from Phoenix Contact can interconnect multiple controllers and multiple visualizations simultaneously.
The OPC interface is used as a standardized interface for importing visualization variables into visualization tools. This means that manufacturer-specific import/export formats between visualization and programming systems are eliminated.
Are you looking for a solution for secure and transparent data management with complete cost and connection control? ODP servers provide an intelligent solution for cost-effective remote data transmission, even for large volumes of data.
ODP servers offer open communication between controllers and higher-level control systems. Using Ethernet, DSL or GPRS, ODP transmits online values as well as historical data and alarms – including a time stamp.
All Phoenix Contact controllers and modems support the ODP solutions.
