Got gas . . . or vapor hazardous location applications?

Phoenix Contact offers a variety of electromechanical and solid-state relays designed for use in Class I, Division 2 and ATEX hazardous location applications.

100's of Options, 100's of Solutions

Phoenix Contact has designed hundreds of products to make your job easier; relays for hazardous locations, for example. Our CID2 relays are UL/cUL listed as process control equipment, for use in hazardous locations:

  • Class I, Zone 2
  • AEx/Ex
  • Class I, Division 2 (CID2)

We also have ATEX relays certified through UL/DEMKO and comply with requirements that relate to the design of Category 3 equipment.

These relays are PLC, terminal block style, relays with a very slim width of only 6.2 mm. In addition to SPDT and DPDT versions of our CID2 and ATEX relays, Phoenix Contact also offers two different termination technologies; screw and spring cage.

When used correctly, these ATEX and Class I, Division 2 relays are incapable of causing ignition that could lead to a deadly explosion. Our potted relays eliminate the need for expensive explosion proof/purged enclosures. This further expands Phoenix Contact’s role in the hazardous location control industry.
