The right contact removal tool for every crimp contact

Use assembly tools for small conductor cross sections. These are used to insert the crimp contact securely into the contact insert.
In the event of assembly errors or changes to the wiring, a snapped-on contact may have to be removed. Use our contact removal tools for this. You will find the right contact removal tool for every crimp contact:

  • CK 1,6... series contacts are removed from the front of the contact inserts using the VC-EW 1,6 tool.
  • For turned and rolled CK 1,6...ST... pin contacts and turned CK 1,6 ED...BU... socket contacts, use the sleeve side of the VC-EW 1,6 tool.
  • To remove rolled CK 1,6 ER-BU... socket contacts, insert the needle side of the VC-EW 1,6 tool into the socket contact. This opens the socket release mechanism. Pull on the wire to remove the corresponding contact from the crimp chamber.

Tensile strength of the conductor in the crimp contact

The requirements for crimp connections are described in EN 60352‑2. A key quality feature for the crimp connection is the tensile strength of the connection. This can be measured easily.
