Phoenix Contact COVID-19 guidance for our people, customers, guests, suppliers and contractors

In response to the current escalation in COVID-19 infections Phoenix Contact Australia is taking action to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our people, customers, guests, suppliers and contractors. 
Phoenix Contact Australia has developed and implemented a COVID Safe Plan to meet Australian Government guidelines and recommendations to mitigate the risk of COVID-19.

Phoenix Contact Australian and New Zealand Offices:

Where permitted, our Australian and New Zealand offices are open, operational and fulfilling our customer’s needs. Head Office in Sydney is fully operational under a registered COVID Safe Plan and we are committed to ensuring the integrity of the Plan is maintained.

Wellbeing of employees, customers, guests and contractors:

  • COVID-19 signs placed on front door and in the foyer "Do not enter this facility if you have the following symptoms". Anyone entering the building must to register and provide temperature readings. Persons with an elevated temperature are denied access.
  • Employees and external visitors entering the building are provided with COVID Safe Plan, must follow sanitising, registration and social distancing requirements and markers.
  • Employees are encouraged to review and follow instructions from NSW Health guidelines for COVID-19.
  • Conditions of entry are displayed on site, website and relevant social media platforms.

Physical distancing:

  • COVID-19 signs placed on all areas indicating the maximum number of occupants.
  • COVID Safe signs placed on the floor and on chairs within the lunch and training rooms to enforce social distancing.
  • Employees instructed to use Microsoft Teams where possible to keep in touch with customers, conduct meetings and avoid face to face contact where possible.
  • Requests have been made to all delivery and invoicing, where practical to be contactless. Or, drivers are requested to remain in their vehicles while staff unload the deliveries, where possible. Or, drivers need to sanitise their hands before unloading the delivery.

Hygiene and cleaning:

  • COVID-19 hand hygiene signs placed throughout the facility to encourage everyone to practice good hand hygiene.
  • Hand sanitizer provided in the entry, exit, meals area, training room and for employees.
  • Employees instructed to avoid sharing items, such as pens and pencils, electronic devices, mobile phones tools or workstations.
  • Employees instructed to clean all areas of contact within their work areas twice daily with a detergent solution or disinfectant wipes. Also instructed to wipe and sanitise any item that has been used by another person before and after use.
  • Record keeping:
  • Employee and Guest Register using Envoy on phone App and iPad to record guest names, phone numbers and body temperatures. Where applicable, people are denied access to facilities.
  • All employees made aware of COVID Safe App via email on 31/07/2020.
  • COVID Safe signs for "Who to call" and "COVID-19 placed throughout the workplace.
