For the first time, Phoenix Contact has been recognized on a European scale for its workplace culture and as an attractive employer.

With subsidiaries in Switzerland and Holland, as well as the two German companies Phoenix Contact and Phoenix Contact Electronics, the Corporate Group has claimed its spot on the list of best multinational employers in Europe. Klaus Lütkemeier, Head of Human Resources Management, accepted the award for “Europe's Best Employers 2016” from Great Place to Work in Dublin.

This year a total of 2250 companies from 19 European countries, with over 2.6 million employees from across the globe, took part in the world's biggest employer competition. These companies had qualified through national competitions such as “Germany's Best Employers”.

In order for Great Place to Work to assess the workplace culture and attractiveness of the employers, employees and management from the companies taking part were asked to provide feedback. The focus was on key workplace matters such as management, trust, and team spirit in cooperation, identification with the work being performed, and loyalty to the employer. Employees at Phoenix Contact gave extremely positive feedback about the company, particularly in terms of trustworthiness, pride, and team spirit.

Phoenix Contact is making full use of the employee survey to further develop and improve its workplace culture. “The ratings and comments from the employee survey indicate which measures still need to be taken by us”, as Lütkemeier explains the company's participation in the competition. “They show us where we still need to develop targeted measures.”
