INTERBUS controller boards for VMEbus systems
The VMEbus is a widely used backplane bus for networking complex multiprocessor structures. As a result, it is used by most CPU and I/O card manufacturers as well as by several PLC manufacturers as a local system bus.
INTERBUS controller boards with a VMEbus interface make it possible to adapt the INTERBUS system to all control systems which use the VMEbus as their system-internal backplane bus. Apart from use in pure VMEbus computers, it can equally well be used in GE or Allen-Bradley controllers.
The clearly structured architecture of the VMEbus system has a positive influence on the handling of the INTERBUS system. A driver development kit (DDK) containing basic routines for operating the VMEbus controller boards, in addition to the necessary register description (shortpage, MPM register), enables the user to adapt the software (operating systems, tools, etc.) optimally to the application in question.
