Product Description

These link modules enable INTERBUS systems and components to be connected at any point of a PROFIBUS-DP system.
The PSM-ST-DP/IB modules provide the Generation 4 functions of INTERBUS and the bidirectional conversion of both protocols.
They consist of a PROFIBUS slave and an INTERBUS submaster. With a data width of 32 data words each for incoming and outgoing data, the link modules permit data to be easily exchanged between systems.
The modular structure in the usual ST design means that both the PROFIBUS segment and the INTERBUS segment can be replaced separately – the electronics are pluggable.
The PROFIBUS slave works according to DIN 50170 and can be addressed by all PROFIBUS masters in Class 1 and 2 with a data transmission speed of up to 12 Mbps. The address of the slave is set via DIP switches on the front of the module. The local diagnostic displays are also found here. The PROFIBUS interface is electrically isolated from the 24 V supply and the INTERBUS submaster.
The INTERBUS submaster works according to EN 50254 and allows either INTERBUS-ST input/output modules to be connected to the integrated remote bus connection via the remote bus connection, or other INTERBUS components.
In addition to exchanging process data, a parameter memory allows the option of preparameterizing the modules via the integrated V.24 interface.
The extensive diagnostic options of the INTERBUS submaster can also be used by PROFIBUS.
