National Engineers Week
Phoenix Contact supports STEM education at local middle school
Middletown, PA – It’s National Engineers Week once again, which means it’s time for Phoenix Contact employees to teach sixth-grade science classes at Middletown Area Middle School.
From Tuesday through Friday, engineers will lead interactive lessons to make science fun and inspire future careers in STEM. The lessons include:
• Building catapults
• Turing Tumble – building marble-powered computers
• Learning about static electricity with the Van de Graaff generator
• Building electric motors
“Every year during National Engineers Week, some of our employees take time out of their busy schedules to inspire the next generation of engineers,” said Patty Marrero, Head of People & Organization at Phoenix Contact USA. “We’re grateful for their dedication and the difference they make during National Engineers Week and every day.”
National Engineers Week, Feb. 22 through 28, promotes engineering and technology careers to young students and honors engineers’ contributions to society.
