Gigabit Ethernet extenders Highspeed Ethernet up to 1 km
The Gigabit extenders enable broadband Gigabit applications over any 2-wire cable and coaxial cables up to 1 km. Use existing cables for demanding Ethernet applications and minimize the investment costs of your installation.
With the Power-over-Link (PoL) and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) functions, you supply the entire network and connected devices with power via the data lines.
Your advantages
- High bandwidth and range for Ethernet networks (1 Gbps – up to 1 km)
- Use of existing 2-wire cables or coaxial cables
- Power-over-Link (PoL) – power supply for the Gigabit extenders via 2-wire cables and coaxial cables
- Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) – Power supply for the PoE end devices
- Flexible network structure (point-to-point, line, or star structures)
- Easy commissioning with Plug and Play
Professional video surveillance for any application
The topic of video surveillance is gaining momentum in a growing number of industries. More and more applications are switching from analog video to Ethernet-based video transmission. The digitalization of video transmission offers many advantages, such as high-resolution footage and flexible network structures. What is missing, however, is the appropriate technology. Often, there are only coaxial cables or other 2-wire cables available, meaning that Ethernet transmission is not possible. In addition, the distances are often greater than the 100 m permitted for Ethernet.
Gigabit Ethernet extenders enable broadband transmission of Ethernet video signals over existing 2-wire cables – whether 2-wire or coaxial. This allows you to benefit from state-of-the-art Ethernet technology. At the same time, you can avoid high installation costs through the sustainable use of existing cables.
Long distances and high bandwidth
With these devices, you use existing 2-wire cables or coaxial cables for high-bandwidth Ethernet communication over long distances.
The Gigabit Ethernet extenders enable broadband Ethernet applications of up to 1 Gbps over distances of up to 1 km. This goes far beyond the standard Ethernet distance of a maximum of 100 m. This means that there are no major restrictions on network extensions when using Ethernet.
Existing 2-wire cables or coaxial cables are sufficient for robust transmission. You can of course use an existing CAT Ethernet cable. However, it is not required.
Power transmission
With the PoL and PoE function, the Gigabit extenders themselves and also the connected PoE end devices are supplied with voltage. Depending on the network structure, multiple Gigabit Ethernet extenders and PoE end devices require just one power supply.
With the PoL and PoE functions, additional power can be transmitted via the data line. This means you need fewer power supplies to power the extenders and the connected PoE end devices in the field. Installation is simpler and faster. Depending on the network structure, multiple Gigabit Ethernet extenders and PoE end devices require just one power supply. This results in a large cost reduction due to fewer devices and less installation work.
With the PoL function, the Gigabit Ethernet extenders supply each other. The extender supplied via PoL can additionally supply a connected PoE camera with PoE af/at (up to 30 watts).
Flexible network configuration
The Gigabit Ethernet extenders are network-compatible with each other. You can thus build point-to-point, line, or star structures. This increases the flexibility of the application.
The Plug-and-Play-capable devices enable easy commissioning of your system without complex configuration. The devices recognize each other automatically. You can connect up to 15 devices in a network. In addition, you can also use the PoL and PoE power supply functions in the network, depending on the cable used and the total length.
