Universal varistor-based plug-in lightning/surge arrester for 3-phase power supply networks with separate N and PE (5-conductor system: L1, L2, L3, N, PE), for Lightning Protection Levels III and IV.
Type 1+2 surge protection
Type 1 surge protection (lightning current arrester) constitutes the first stage in the protection concept. It can discharge very high energies, e.g., caused by a lightning strike, to ground. Type 1 surge protective devices (SPDs) are usually installed in the feed-in or main distribution system. For additional energies with lower surge voltage pulses, type 1+2 combined lightning current and surge arresters are required.

Your advantages
- Optimum lightning current and surge protection with our powerful type 1+2(+3) combined lightning current and surge arresters with no line follow current
- High system availability with high follow current extinguishing capability
- Information concerning the status of the protective devices is always available by means of visual, mechanical status indicator and remote indication contact
- Pluggable protective devices enable easy maintenance
In the case of lightning discharges or direct lightning strikes, our lightning current arresters as combined lightning current and surge arresters provide optimum protection for your installation. In the main distribution of low-voltage systems, our powerful lightning current arresters also safely discharge high lightning currents to ground.
Type 1+2 combined lightning current and surge arresters FLASHTRAB FLT-SEC-PLUS
Every type 1 lightning current arrester fulfills the high requirements in terms of discharge capacity. At the same time, it is also a type 2 surge protective device (SPD). The fact that a type 1 lightning current arrester satisfies test class II is redundant information and does not constitute an additional qualification. Therefore, such protective devices are called combined lightning current and surge arresters (SPD type 1+2). A combined lightning current and surge arrester is a protective device that fulfills both test classes.
Type 1+2 special combined lightning current and surge arresters FLASHTRAB FLT-SEC-T1+T2
The type 1+2 special combined lightning current and surge arrester differs fundamentally from the type 1+2 version. This is because the type 1+2 special combined lightning current and surge arrester contains two independent protective devices that are connected in parallel in a very small space. The voltage-switching spark gap (SPD type 1+2) works ideally in combination with a voltage-limiting varistor (SPD type 2). In this combination, two autonomous protective devices in one compact block ensure optimum response behavior, optimal system protection, and a long service life for the components.
Maximum power in a minimum amount of space FLASHTRAB FLT-MB
The FLT-MB type 1+2+3 lightning current and surge arresters are based on our new spark gap technology. The portfolio includes circuit versions for a discharge capacity of 12.5 kA and 25 kA.
The FLT-MB devices with 25 kA protect against lightning currents of lightning protection level I/II. The FLT-MB with 12.5 kA discharge capacity is sufficient for installations in lightning protection level III/IV.
What’s special about the type 1+2+3 combined lightning current and surge arresters is that they are capable of handling multiple lightning pulses in an overall width of just 72 mm. The space-saving design of just four HP results in easy installation and flexible installation options in the control cabinet.
Type 1+2 surge protection for harsh industrial environments POWERTRAB PWT
The robust type 1+2 lightning current arresters feature a rated voltage of 800 V AC and a discharge capacity of 35 kA per channel, making them ideal for harsh industrial environments. The resilient housing design, shock values of 25g, and vibration resistance of 5g make these type 1+2 combined lightning current and surge arresters the ideal choice for wind turbine generators, for example. The multi-stage status indicator even enables you to detect pre-existing damage caused by surge voltage events.
- High rated voltage
- High shock and vibration resistance
- Multi-stage status indicator
- Use in harsh industrial environments
