Application

With the migration from relay signal boxes to electronic or digital signal boxes, new power supply requirements are emerging. Additional components such as lineside electronic units (LEUs) must be integrated or conventional control command and safety technology will remain as a fallback strategy. Redundant feed-in from various sources – such as the power grid and overhead wire – is often required. In addition, solutions are needed that are suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations.
Previously, power supplies were designed for centralized signal box concepts. The devices used for this purpose do not meet the changed requirements.
