PTCB TM systemic device circuit breakers

With PTCB TM, Phoenix Contact is launching a new generation of thermal-magnetic circuit-breakers onto the market. With a width of just 8 mm, alignable current monitoring, and the capability of direct bridging to the CLIPLINE complete system, the product family ensures high efficiency and transparency in the control cabinet and is suitable for demanding industrial applications.

The thermal-magnetic circuit breakers have been specially developed for industrial applications with high inrush currents and, with their narrow design of just 8 mm, save a considerable amount of space in the control cabinet. The entire PTCB TM series can be bridged to the CLIPLINE complete terminal block range and enables intuitive integration into existing applications. The circuit breakers are available in finely graduated nominal currents from 0.5 A to 16 A and cover a wide range of applications with the characteristic curves F2 and M1. These applications range from sensitive electronic components right through to power-intensive loads such as motors and transformers.

One special feature is the alignable current monitoring with adjustable signaling threshold, which provides transparency on the actual load status – both locally and via remote signaling. The simple PLC integration via digital outputs supports consistent system diagnostics and increases system availability. The circuit breakers are operated using an intuitive tilting lever that clearly visualizes the switching status – even when the power is off. This reduces the amount of training required and minimizes operating errors. With the launch of the PTCB TM series, Phoenix Contact is underlining its expertise in the development of holistic solutions for electrification, automation, and system integration. The new product family complements the existing portfolio with robust, space-saving, and intelligent protective components for state-of-the-arts control cabinet concepts.
