Combining Elements in Function Groups

A function group is a combination of two or more elements that are grouped together. Function groups provide the solution for a specific requirement, i.e., have a common "function". There are two types of function groups available:

Create and dissolve a function group

Manuallly create a function groupSelect the elements you want to group and call the following command in the radial menu of the selection.

All selected articles, including their accessories, are treated as part of the new function group.

Note
You can only combine articles to a function group that are placed on the same rail and next to each other. If you include terminal strips, all terminal blocks of the strip must be included.

In the creation dialog, check the Add to library checkbox to make the function group available in the Function groups category in the Insertion Center for future use.
Create a function group with an article configuratorUse the article configurator in the HOME > ASSISTANTS / CONFIGURATORS ribbon menu.

The function group will be automatically inserted into the UNPLACED ELEMENTS window when you add the group to the project.
Reconfigure a function group (only valid for function groups created with an article configurator)Double-click the function group or call the following command in the radial menu of the group.

Dissolve a function groupCall the following command in the radial menu of the function group (see also the rules below).

All elements that belong to the same function group are highlighted in green in the workspace when you select an element of the group (the selected element will be shown in another color).
