Functional safety What does functional safety mean? First of all, functional safety in your application means that people and the environment are protected against risks. Overvoltage protection Because interferences to the control can lead to voltage dips or voltage rises, a stable control of the 24 V supply is needed to guarantee the safe supply of the system. Voltage dips are covered by the redundant system. An unintentional voltage rise leads to an overvoltage at the load, therefore endangering system safety. 30 V OVP with safe shutdown The Plus version of the QUINT POWER power supply protects the loads against voltage rises and, in the event of the voltage control system failing, shuts down the output to protect the loads.
