Panel Feed-Through

Frequency converters, inverters, power supply units and filter modules are modular in design and have small compact housings. Although these applications are different, they all have currents of varius magnitudes that must be guided through a housing panel. A touch-proof conductor connection that is easy to install is the best choice for wiring system components. Several feed-through terminal blocks support these requirements. Phoenix Contact offers the following three designs:

DFK

DFK feed-through terminal blocks are fitted in cut-outs in the sheet metal. DFK can be used in 1.5 or 2.5 mm housing walls. Due to its high nominal voltage (up to 690 V) and resulting pitch of 9.5 mm, the DFK 5-9.5 is not engaged in the housing wall, but is screwed onto the inner side with a plastic knurled nut. Because of this, the housing wall only requires a bore hole as in the drilling plan instead of a rectangular cut-out, which considerably reduces assembly costs.

VDFK

Molded feed-through terminal blocks made for fully insulated transformers and coils. Like its smaller cousin VDFK 4, the molded feed-through terminal block VDFK 6 was designed for fully insulated transformers. The VDFK 6 has a connection cross section of up to 10mm2 and is designed to take currents of up to 57 A. This makes the VDFK an ideal connection element for molded transformers of higher rating levels with its finger-safe housing. All VDFK modules are introduced from the outside. On the inside, the terminal block can be either screwed into place with a plastic knurled nut, or secured with a snap-on wedge (./K types). The module is fixed in place when the housing is molded.

HDFK

High-current feed-through terminal blocks. Industrial electronics equipment with enclosed housings such as equipment for power electronics, requires heavy-duty feed-through terminal blocks which provide a reliable and convenient connection of the external conductors. Features of HDFK terminal blocks include:
  • Easy installation of terminal halves, securely interlocked by simply engaging them.
  • Reliable sealing of the housing interior against contamination.
  • Automatic compensation of the wall thickness with the snap principle integrated in the insulation housing.
  • Solid screw connection on both sides.
  • Finger-safe insulation housing.

All feed-through terminal blocks have touch-proof insulating housings which can be labeled with various marking solutions.
