Maximizing Panel Space

Maximizing space is a critical consideration when designing or modifying the layout of an electrical control cabinet. Figure A illustrates a typical panel layout. Figure B illustrates the UK3 Return terminal block with a bent current carrying bar which locates both wire connections on one side. This means two terminal strips can be installed back to back for considerable space savings.
The bottom drawing illustrates a common practice in panel layout which leaves space(see X1 ) along the outer sides of the panel. This dead space usually serves no purpose. However, when unexpected system modifications occur this "dead space" can be filled (see X2 ) with a row of UK 3 Return terminal blocks for additional I/O.
