Multi-conductor cables for assembly of cordsets in the field

Phoenix Contact offers several types of multi-conductor cables as an accessory to field-wired cable connectors. General applications include assembly of sensor/actuator cordsets with M12 connectors, M8, and Micro ½-inch.  Various cable jackets include PVC, PUR irradiated, PUR/PVC, PUR halogen-free, and TPE.

PUR/PVC multi-conductor cable reel
PVC is recommended for use in medium mechanical stress and minimal abrasion/wear environments.  The insulation is easy to strip and prepare for field wiring and provides resistance to some chemicals. Applications include machine tool, packaging machines, assembly machines, and factory automation.

PUR irradiated has excellent immunity to welding sparks and is resistant to low/high temperature and UV exposure. It is characterized by extremely long service life and provides good flexibility (over 5 million bend cycles). Applications include welding robots, rugged temperatures, and C-track.

PUR/PVC provides good resistance to chemicals, oils, and lubricants.  The insulation is easy to strip and prepare for field wiring. It is ideal for high-stress minimal resistance to abrasion/wear environments and provides good flexibility (over 2 million bend cycles). Applications include machine tool, packaging machines, assembly machines and metal cutting machines.  The outer jacket is conducive to paint or varnish coating.

PUR halogen-free is commonly used in industrial environments. It provides extremely good resistance to chemical, oils and lubricants, as well as high flame and wear/abrasion resistance, and has good flexibility (over 4 million bend cycles). The Phoenix Contact standard black PUR is UV-resistant. Applications include permanently flexing control cables; drag chains; rotary and swiveling tables. The outer jacket is conducive to paint or varnish coating.

TPE is highly flexible (over 10 million bend cycles), high flame- and high temperature-resistant and provides good immunity to welding sparks.  It provides extremely good resistance to oils, chemicals, lubricants, coolants and other aggressive materials.  The material is recyclable and halogen- and PVC-free.  Applications include C-track, robotics, mobile equipment, automated handling equipment, pick-and-place assembly, machine tool and other continuous flexing movements.
