Interactive determination of the performance level (PL)
In terms of system and machine safety, the performance level is determined in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1, which indicates the probability of failure for each safety function.
EN ISO 13849-1 comes
- from EN 954-1:1996 and is supplemented with quality management and reliability aspects,
- best suited for less complex systems,
- can also be used for other technologies apart from electronics, for example pneumatics or hydraulics,
- suitable for proof of safety of devices as well as for evaluation of risk reduction of the entire safety function via tables.
