Factory Line Bluetooth

For wireless integration of Ethernet-capable automation components in the network the Factory Line module FL Bluetooth AP is the obvious choice.

Since the data is forwarded transparent to protocol, both IP and other Layer 2 Ethernet protocols such as Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP and PROFINET can be transmitted reliably.

The FL Bluetooth AP is used when:

  • Ethernet data has to transmitted reliably - in a harsh industrial environment.
  • Many wireless connections are to be operated locally in parallel
  • Small amounts of data are to be transmitted cyclically (e.g. via PROFINET IO)
  • Existing WLAN 802.11 b/g systems may not be interfered with
  • A data throughput of 500 kbps is sufficient, e.g. for maintenance and service terminals
  • No more than seven devices are to be coupled to an access point.
  • A range of over 100 m in industrial halls and over 250 m outdoors is sufficient

Properties:

  • Simple configuration with intelligent auto-configuration function and clearly structured web interface
  • Extremely safe transmission due to 128-bit data encryption and device authentication
  • Support of LAN, PAN, and SPP Bluetooth profiles.
  • Delay along the wireless path typ. less than 15 ms (for an 80-byte PROFINET frame, point-to-point)
  • Configurable range from 0.1 m to 250 m outdoors
  • Automatic roaming of an Ethernet client between several Bluetooth access points is possible
  • Diagnosis of the link quality of the wireless paths
  • Automatic regulation of the transmission capacity
