Monitoring

Detecting faults before they become a problem. This applies to leakage currents which slowly develop in the system, as well as to undetected predamage to surge arresters.

LM-S lightning current measuring system

Lightning strikes can cause significant damage to systems and buildings. The extent of the damage depends on the different lightning parameters. The LM-S lightning current measurement system detects and analyzes all the important parameters of lightning surge currents as soon as they occur and reports these to integrated management or higher-level control systems.

With this information, checks and maintenance can be planned optimally - this can lead to considerable cost savings, even with offshore systems.

RCM - Residual current monitoring

Residual current monitoring devices (Residual Current Monitor, RCM) detect leakage currents at an early stage and report them before they reach critical values.

In this way, these protective measures prevent an unexpected shutdown of the system. The residual current measurement is a measure of preventive fire protection and maintenance.

Downtimes and the associated costs are reduced and system availability is increased.

Device circuit breakers

In IT and communication technology, process control systems, as well as devices and systems, device circuit breakers provide reliable protection against overload and short circuits.

The product range includes various types and connection methods. The operating modes range from purely thermal, to thermomagnetic, right up to electronic tripping. The device circuit breakers can therefore be used in a wide range of applications.

CHECKMASTER – The arrester test device

Surge protection devices are constructed in a way that makes them able to withstand high surge current loads. Nevertheless, high-energy surge voltage couplings can overload the protective devices. In order to ensure that the surge protection measure is always effective, arresters should be tested from time to time.

In order to do so, Phoenix Contact has developed the intelligent CHECKMASTER test device for pluggable arresters of the TRABTECH product range. With this mobile test lab, the protective devices can be tested on-site.

Protective devices that have already been damaged are detected and can be replaced. The test device also draws up a protocol which substantiates the test.
