PLC Relay is the perfect interface between control and system peripherals

PLC RELAY from Phoenix Contact is the most complete and innovative coupling relay family in the market. Whether in 6.2 mm or in 14 mm wide housings, PLC RELAY offers the right solution for almost all industrial applications.

EMR or SSR as alternatives

The basic terminal block of the PLC module can be equipped with either a pluggable electromechanical or a wear-free solid state relay. This guarantees extremely service-friendly operation.
In the 6.2 mm wide housing, the REL-MR...21 can be used with power contact and a maximum switching capacity of 250 VAC / 6 A. Multi-layer contact relays are naturally available in a 1-PDT as well as in a 2-PDT version.

Modules with spring-cage and screw connection are of the same shape

Almost all modules are available in the proven screw connection method, and also in the spring-cage connection method. As the housings - whether 6.2 mm or 14 mm wide, screw or spring-cage connection - are of the same shape, the same accessories can be used in all modules and accordingly the same potentials can be bridged between them.

PLC-RSP...21-21 consists of the 14 mm wide basic terminal block and a power relay with two PDT contacts.

Easy connection to the system cabling

The PLC Relay together with the VARIOFACE system cabling forms an unbeatable team. Simply connect eight PLC interfaces in series and plug the PLC-V8 adapter into the bridge shafts of the modules. The complete and polarized wiring between PLC control and interface level is achieved in a few minutes. The channel-specific mixing of electromechanical relay and solid state relay is possible.

Interference voltages are safely absorbed

Coupled interference voltages are no rarity in the industrial environment. This interference voltage, often encouraged by very long control cables, can lead to the relays not dropping out in spite of "zero signals".
The PLC...SO46 version is especially designed for such cases.
An integrated circuit ensures that coupled interference voltages are absorbed and the relay module functions without problem.

Normal relay module

Problem: The induced interference voltage induces a current in spite of the open switch, which does not allow the relay to drop.

Inrush currents up to 130 A are no problem

Capacitive loads, such as a compensated fluorescent lamp, are characterized by the inrush current being extremely high in the first microseconds. This high inrush current causes conventional relays to quickly reach their limits.
The PLC...IC version is predestined for switching capacitive or lamp loads. Inrush currents of up to 130 A peak are no problem.

More functionality in the PLC housing

The new slim 6.2 mm PLC housing with integrated PCB supplements the PLC series with pluggable relays and solid state relays. Now many more functionalities and features can be realized.

DC voltage up to 300 volts

  • PLC-OS...300DC/1
The solid state relay can switch DC currents up to 300 V DC/1 A and on the control side is available for all conventional industrial voltages from 5 V to 230 V.

10 A output with feedback

  • PLC-OS...24DC/10
On the output side, this module can switch a maximum of 24 V DC/10 A. Through the feedback output, any overload and short-circuit is reported to the control system.

Electronic PDT

  • PLC-OS...48DC/500/W
In this module, an electronic PDT, as is known from electromechanical relays, is realized. This module is used wherever an N/O and/or N/C function with high switching rates is required.

Manual switching

  • PLC-S...
The PLC switch module is predestined in connection with an interface relay for applications where the "Manual, Zero, and Automatic" functions must be realized. This can be necessary for startups or in building installations.

Switch, reverse and brake motors

  • PLC-S...ELR W...
The electronic reversing load relay enables wear-proof switching of direct current motors up to a power of 24 V DC /2 A. A short-circuit-proof, surge voltage-proof and overload-proof output guarantees reliable use of the system.

Specially for railway engineering

  • PLC-OSP...24DC/3RW
Railway engineering has requirements that a normal interface module cannot satisfy. For this reason, the ...RW module was developed especially for railway engineering. It meets the DIN EN 50155 railway standards in relevant sections.
