QUINT POWER SFB power supply units with 5 to 56 V output voltage

The QUINT POWER SFB power supply units are now also available with output voltages of 12 and 48 V DC. With the 24 V DC devices that have been available for a year, the three power supply units with output voltages of 12, 24 and 48 V DC cover the entire voltage range from 5 to 56 V DC. The 12 V variants can be adjusted from 5 to 18 V, the 24 V power supply units from 18 to 29.5 V, and the 48 V devices from 30 to 56 V.

This expands the application range of these high-function devices. The 48 V power supply units with 5 and 10 A nominal output current ensure low power dissipation with long conductor routes.

For example, they are suitable for motors that must start reliably even with a torque increased through contamination.

The 12 V modules with 15 and 20 A are available for the supply of the LED lighting or the special electronic system.

In order to be able to trigger standard power circuit breakers without delay, power supply units must supply a multiple of their nominal current for a short period.

SFB technology

Static Power Boost power reserve for reliable starting of heavy loads
These high-function power supply units are equipped with Power Boost, preventive function monitoring and SFB technology.
In order to trip standard power circuit breakers magnetically and within a few milliseconds, power supply units must supply a multiple of their nominal current for a short period. QUINT POWER supplies this dynamic current reserve with the SFB technology (Selective Fusebreaking Technology).

Due to the 6x nominal current for 12 ms, defective current paths are selectively switched off and other system parts continue to function without any interruption.

The static Power Boost power reserve with up to 1.5x the nominal current is constantly available for reliably starting loads with high inrush currents.

Diagnostic function

A diagnosis of the connected loads is carried out by constantly checking the output voltage and output current. In addition to normal operation and malfunctions, preventive function monitoring also detects critical operating states without causing any interruption in the functioning of the power supply unit.

The control system thus detects defects in the connected loads in time. These can be rectified before they lead to voltage dips.

The output voltages 12 and 48 V DC have opened up new areas of application.

Worldwide use

The power supply units can be used in all industrial fields worldwide since they have a wide-range input, comprehensive international approvals and a large temperature range of -25 to +70°C. Additional operational reliability ensures high dielectric strength of up to 300 V AC. Such high voltage peaks are common in asymmetric, weak networks. The compact design with 60 and 90 mm widths saves space on the DIN rail.
