Autonomous energy supply for industrial wireless systems

Data acquisition from remote sensors is possible today using various wireless technologies. Expensive digging and installation work for cables can be avoided this way. Often, however, the power supply of these decentralized stations is a problem. Solar and battery systems from Phoenix Contact provide a completely autonomous solution.

For applications where the continuous monitoring of sensors is required, the power supply must sufficiently supply the wireless module and sensors long-term.

A RAD-SOL-SET type solar system with 24 V DC output voltage provides a reliable, long-term power supply.

If it is not necessary to transmit sensor signals long-term, for example, in the case of slowly changing levels, it is sufficient to poll the measuring sensors cyclically at adapted intervals.

For these applications, Phoenix Contact offers wireless systems of type "RAD-Line IO" with an adjustable cyclical transmission mode.

Since these modules require a lot less energy, they can be autonomously supplied by a small RAD-SOL-SET-12-10 12 V / 19 Watt peak solar system or by a RAD-BAT-PAC-12-19 compact industrial battery system with IP65 protection and capacitance of 19 Ah.
