New FO converters for networks in XXL

Devices with 1300 nm technology are now available for the successful PSI-MOS product range.

With the new FO converters, the proven performance features of PSI-MOS can now also be used in the long-distance range. The powerful optical interface reaches distances up to 25 km via multimode glass fibers and up to 45 km via single-mode glass fibers.



PSI-MOS FO converters are available for all serial bus systems. The modular system allows star couplers to be set up individually and optimized according to need.

Data and supply can be diagonally routed automatically via the internal bus. For this, devices are simply connected together by snapping them onto the snap-on DIN rail connectors on the DIN rail.

The monitor of the received optical power, which is built into the PSI-MOS, already diagnoses the quality of the FO connection at startup. This way, calibrating the FO paths during startup is unnecessary and the expensive meters can stay in their cases.

The signal quality is constantly visualized via a four-stage bar graph on the device and allows the FO paths to be practically monitored long-term.




As soon as the quality of the FO path has reached a critical state, the FO diagnostics function activates the floating switching output. If placed at a digital input, the information can be made available to the control system and preventive maintenance can be initiated. The early warning threshold of the devices gives sufficient notice before the network fails, thus increasing system availability.
