First surge protection worldwide for LAN with CLASS D / CAT.5E approval

The LAN adapted DATATRAB D-LAN-CAT.5E protective device guarantees maximum data security in the currently used high-speed data transmission systems. This surge protection fulfills the increased performance requirements for transmission quality in accordance with class D and cat. 5e (enhanced cat. 5) of EN 50173:2002. This means that even in the case of transmission rates of over 100 Mbit/s, data is transmitted reliably and in accordance with current standards.

The circuit of this multi-functional surge arrester protects all 8 signal paths that are connected via the RJ 45 connector and is therefore equally suitable for the network interfaces in the Ethernet, Token Ring and CDDI (FDDI). Thanks to the advanced and future-oriented protective circuit, this product protects not only the present network interfaces against damage but also future transmission systems.

A version with snap-on foot is available for use in the field of industrial ETHERNET. The protective device can thus be used on a DIN rail with industrial Ethernet terminals to suit control cabinet requirements.

With its capacity (surge current) of 2500 A (8/20 µs), it provides protection against surge voltages even in the harshest industrial environments.

The protective adapter has an RJ 45 socket for network connection, and a short connecting line with RJ 45 plug for the data line connection on the terminal. A cable marked with "ground" is guided out of the adapter housing for the ground connection.
