FLASHTRAB compact - Takes the fright out of lightning
FLASHTRAB compact FLT-CP from Phoenix Contact are the new surge protection combinations for power feed in. In a restricted space, the combination of continuous, encapsulated, pluggable surge current arresters as well as powerful, first class surge voltage arresters that are also pluggable are features that stand out. The direct parallel wiring of both arrester types is based on the proven AEC (Active Energy Control) principle. For this purpose, the lightning current arresters have ignition electronics that trigger the ignition voltage.

High lightning current arresting capacity
The protection combination fulfills the highest requirements of lightning protection class I in accordance with the international standard IEC 61643-1. This means a current carrying capacity of 100 kA (10/350 µs). In practice, this means reliable protection against lightning of up to 200.000 A for the connected devices.

Worldwide use thanks to the 350 V AC arrester rated voltage
The high arrester rated voltage of 350 V AC allows worldwide applications. In certain countries, temporary fluctuations in the mains supply with voltages of over 300 V AC are common. FLASHTRAB compact and VALVETRAB compact master these voltage fluctuations with no problems. The protection level of the arrester combination s always below 1.5 kV.

UTOV = TOV requirement in acc. with
UN = Nominal voltage

Further advantages
In addition to the many technical developments, benefits in the field of handling and ease of operation have of course also been added.
- The arrester combination can be turned around by 180°, allowing the shortest possible connection lengths, regardless of whether the lines are coming in from above or below.
- The status display is mechanical and is output as an optical signal. This means that no power is required and the information can be read off the plug correctly even when not installed.
- The integrated common floating PDT contact allows remote signaling as required, with N/C or N/O function, and current or voltage as transmission signal.
Technical data that convinces. With FLASHTRAB compact from Phoenix Contact, lightning and surge voltages haven't got a chance, and the availability of your systems and installations remains guaranteed.
