MAINTRAB now even more powerful

Surge voltages cause enormous damage every day, not only in industry, but also in private households. The damage is not primarily due to lightning strikes. A more frequent cause are surge voltages as a result of so-called switching operations.

No compromise surge protection

Since device protection can only reliably cope with surge voltages up to a particular strength, a type 2 surge arrester that limits the voltage to an appropriate level is certainly needed. However, this voltage limiting is not sufficient for the sensitive electronic devices. The conductor length previously required for decoupling (5 m) between surge arrester (type 2) and device protection (type 3) is no longer necessary with the new protective devices. Both protection stages are coordinated with one another in a such a way as to allow parallel connection. You can thus use the new MAINTRAB directly downstream of the sub-distribution board to protect your electronic equipment.

Optimum protection for power supply and signal interfaces

To protect your terminal equipment - such as TV Hi-Fi, computers or telephone systems - Phoenix Contact has the MAINTRAB surge protection adapter in different versions. You can thus protect the power supply and the signal interfaces of the equipment connected at the same time with just one protective device. The modified MAINTRAB device protection has a higher arrest capacity and at the same time, CLASS A EMC requirements are fulfilled by the adapters for entertainment electronics. It can be used in all network forms (TN-C, TN-S, TT, IT) and complies with national and international standards, including those of Scandinavia, which are particularly high.

The devices have VDE certification and comply withe the European RoHS/WEEE directive regarding freedom from lead.

All the innovations at a glance:

  • Increased arrest capacity (5 kA)
  • Coordinated with type II arresters
  • For all network forms
  • Fulfills all international requirements
  • Complies with the RoHS/WEEE directive

The attachment plugs of the MAINTRAB family of products are available from January.
