SURGETRAB - screw-on modules for sensor heads for use in the Ex area
A wide range of sensors ensures smooth processes in process technology. The sensitive sensor head must be protected against surge voltage effects so as to ensure consistent transmission of the measured values.
The arresters with their different connection threads are attached directly at the sensor head and offer protection for up to four signal conductors. This type of assembly saves both time and money. An additional connection box for installing the surge protection is thus unnecessary.

Through or parallel wiring
You can choose between different versions for connecting to the sensor head. The protective circuit can be connected to the measuring sensor in parallel or in series depending on the version.
Here, it is irrelevant whether the sensor heads are equipped with a œ inch or M20 thread; the sensor head only has to have a second connection in the case of parallel wiring.

Direct or indirect grounding of the shield in the case of through wiring
At the time of delivery, the shield is directly connected to the reference potential using a pre-installed bridge. The bridge can easily be disconnected for indirect grounding.

The advantages at a glance
- Connection directly at the sensor head
- Versions for œ inch and M20x1.5 thread
- Robust IP67 metal housing
- Approvals available for Ex(i) / Ex(d)
- Versions for parallel or through wiring
- Integrated shield fast connection (for through wiring)
- Direct or indirect grounding of the shield (for through wiring)
Protecting sensor heads is child's play with the SURGETRAB surge protection devices. Screw in - connect - finished.
