Combination RCD: Simultaneous protection of persons and devices
With the new combination RCD VAL-CP-RCD.,Phoenix Contact is offering a device on the German market for the first time which unifies the properties of an RCD leakage current circuit breaker (FI) with those of a type 2 surge arrester in only one housing. This innovative "2 in 1" concept thus defines a completely novel device type of the combination RCD.
The installation in supplies or distribution boxes remains conceivably simple. As in the familiar normal leakage current circuit breaker, only one device is connected, but twice the safety is installed at the same time.

Thanks to the novel combination RCD, the planning of surge protection has become considerably simpler. Thanks to the combination of personal and device protection in one housing, additional installation expense is avoided. You save time and money.
Separately pluggable surge arresters
When the leakage current circuit breaker is triggered, the personal protection can be quickly reestablished, as usual, by throwing the toggle switch. If the surge protection should fail due to an overload, this is individually signalized on each connector thanks to the built-in temperature monitor.
A specific, quick and cost-effective exchange can be carried out without interfering with the installation and without tools. Of course, the surge arresters can be tested with the CHECKMASTER testing device.
The combination RCD uses the installation standard of tomorrow with its "2 in 1" functionality.
