Valve connector cables with free-wheeling diode as the protective circuit
Phoenix Contact now also offers protective circuits with free-wheeling diode for valve connector cables for 24 V DC solenoid valves. These cables are primarily used in machine and system engineering.
Free-wheeling diodes quickly and completely discharge the energy that occurs on a switching operation and thus prevent arcs from occurring at the relay contacts connected upstream of the solenoid valves.
This can increase the service life of relays by factor 5 to 10.

The advantages
For assembled valve connector cables, you can now choose between protective circuits with Zener diode, varistor, and free-wheeling diode.
The housing is molded with the same type of black transparent TPU material as used in existing types and together with the high-contrast status LEDs it also offers maximum protection against a wide range of different types of oil, water, and other media.

In addition to the halogen-free 0.5 mm² PUR cable, another special feature is the functional design with integrated seal. Further cable types with a cable cross section of 0.75 mm², other sheath materials and colors, and additional protective circuits for other voltage ranges are available on request.
