Angled M12 flush-type connector - now also 8-pos. on the printed circuit board

Now, versions with angled contacts for PCB mounting are available in the two-part M12 connector range. The range of products includes 4, 5 and 8-pos. connectors and sockets.

All versions are available with shield contact for field bus specifications. The required shield is guided directly onto the PCB. The spring-loaded shroud enables secure and permanent contact to the housing panel.

The mounting method is as easy and cost-effective as can be. The contact carriers suitable for the wave soldering method are clipped and soldered onto the PCB. The M12 housing parts are screwed to the customer housing.

Subsequently, the 1.6 mm PCB is mounted by pushing the contact carriers of the completely soldered PCB from the inside of the device through the pre-assembled connector housing.

Customer-specific housings

Alternatively, the M12 screw connection can often be integrated directly into the housing design in the case of customer-specific housings. The contact carriers can also be used without the M12 screw connection for such applications. Thus, the M12 connection method can, for instance, be used very cost-effectively in die-cast housings.

An additional sealing effect between the contact carrier and the M12 screw connection is obtained with a standard O-ring on the contact carrier. This prevents damage to the sensitive electronic system inside the device due to unwanted moisture that enters when the device is unplugged.

The new connector range corresponds to the IEC 61076-2-101 and meets the IP67 protection requirements.
