''Type A'' bus lines fulfill the Fieldbus Foundation specifications

The assembled 7/8" bus lines are the first of their type having Fieldbus Foundation approval as per the FF-844 specification for H1 type A lines.

Based on the IEC 61158 standard, the cable test specification FF-844 defines requirements for conductors and connectors that have been designed for use in H1 networks of Fieldbus Foundation.

The 7/8" connectors from Phoenix Contact for H1 Physical Media are assembled with an Instrumentation Tray Cable (ITC) / Power-Limited Tray Cable (PLTC-ER) conductor.`

In accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC) of USA, this conductor can be used between the cable platform and the field devices without any metal covering or braided shield up to a distance of 15 meters.

Since it is not necessary to use an individual cable platform for every device, ITC reduces the installation time and costs as per NEC.

In addition to the assembled conductors, Phoenix Contact also provides a T-distributor that extends a device connection to the main connection conductor, and a termination resistor that is connected at the end of every segment along the main connection conductor.

All connectors of this series use knurled nuts and screws made of high-grade steel that are corrosion-resistant and have been designed for extremely high loads in harsh industrial environments. The connectors are IP67-classified, RoHS-compliant and UV-resistant. They fulfill the requirements for the H1 network.
