High channel density with Fieldline Modular

Starting now, the new Fieldline Modular I/O devices FLM DI 16 M12 and FLM DIO 8/8 M12 with IP65/67 protection are expanding the range of Fieldline Modular M12 local bus devices from Phoenix Contact. Both devices are characterized by an increased number of digital inputs and outputs per device.

The expansion of the Fieldline Modular product range increases the variety of economical I/O solutions - many digital inputs and outputs in a tiny space.


Fieldline Modular - The system


The Fieldline Modular system from Phoenix Contact is an open-bus I/O system. Use of network-specific bus couplers enables a network-independent station structure.

The following bus couplers are available:

  • INTERBUS
  • PROFIBUS
  • DeviceNetTM
  • Ethernet

Fieldline Modular devices can be integrated into these networks very easily; similarly, appropriate GSD files are available for integration into PROFIBUS networks or EDS files are available for integration into DeviceNetTM networks.

The bus coupler opens a high-performance local bus that allows up to 16 further Fieldline Modular local bus devices to be connected. The transmission speed can be changed from 500 kBaud to 2 MBaud; the total distance of the local bus should be max. 20 m.

If time-critical process signals are to be transmitted, local bus devices having I/O connections with M8 or M12 connection method or I/O devices connected through Bluetooth communication expand the area of application for Fieldline Modular, especially for applications in mobile, temporarily installed or inaccessible machine units in all industrial branches.
