Only by Phoenix Contact: Switches with gigabit technology on all ports
Many manufacturers offer gigabit switches that normally only include two ports that are designed for a transfer rate of 1,000 MBit/s. The new Factory Line Switches from the GT series, however, support gigabit transfer on all eight ports.
Ethernet networks are expanded quickly and economically with the FL Switch SFN 8GT. The gigabit support on all ports mean that they can be mechanically secured to prevent unauthorised access and to avoid non-permitted disconnection of the network connection.
Area of application:
- Configuration of gigabit backbones in industrial applications
- Networking of terminals, e.g. IP cameras, VoIP telephony
- Applications with very high bandwidth requirements, such as the rapid transmission of many speech/video data files
Network expansion up to the field level with the Factory Line Switch FL Switch SFN 8GT

Features
Particularly narrow housing: Optimal for universal, decentralised employment in switch cabinets
- Gigabit operation on all ports
- Redundant power supply and alarm contact for loss of the redundant supply
- Extended temperature range: -25°C to 60°C
- Operation with low voltages (9V) for battery / rechargeable battery applications
- Increased network performance through filtering of the data traffic
- Local data traffic remains local; reduction in the amount of data in the network segments
- Simple network expansion without configuration of the switches
- Coupling of copper network segments with different bit rates with automatic detection of the data transmission rate of 10 MBit/s, 100 MBit/S or 1000 MBit/s
- Autocrossing functionality
- Automatic detection of busy Ethernet lines and corresponding settings
- Electrical isolation of network segments using up to two fibre optic ports
- Option to attach Layer 1 security elements to the RJ45 ports
