IO systems, control cabinet & field
I/O components, a system for the control cabinet and the field
Smaller, faster, more flexible and more economical - These are the trends in automation. Phoenix Contact actively pursues these trends with innovative I/O systems for control cabinets and field wiring solutions.

Inline Modular IO: More flexible - smaller - faster - better value
Inline with its high modularity provides utmost flexibility when it comes to implementing individual automation solutions. The major automation functions for control cabinet installation are united in one system kit:
I/O signals - motor starters - safety - pneumatics - controllers - technology functions... - and they are growing from day to day.
It is Inline's openness to standard fieldbus systems in particular that makes a wide range of functions available.

Inline Block IO: Installation in low-profile switchboxes due to compact design
The compact design of Inline Block IO allows the installation in low-profile switchboxes. This saves space and allows entirely new solutions.
Inline Block IO is open to all common fieldbuses - and the best thing: The bus couplers are already integrated: This results in considerable handling and cost advantages at all points in the plant where there are few I/Os. Inline Block IO is custom-made for digital signals.
Handling is fast and easy: Unpack it, snap it on, wire it - finished! The pluggable peripherals provide ease of service even while the system is in operation, and lower possible downtimes.
Take advantage of the tried-and-tested housing form, I/O connectors and marking for the Inline automation kit.

Smart Terminals - Proven technology for your automation
Regardless of whether it is centrally in the control cabinet or distributed in the terminal box - INTERBUS ST modules are used for all applications with a medium to high number of I/Os. The modules can be aligned as desired and connect I/Os with different signal forms and functions to the INTERBUS. The two available bus media fiber optics and twisted pair conductors as well as the pluggable module electronics offer additional benefit for the user. A branch from the control cabinet goes direct to the field.

Fieldline Stand-Alone - Distribution par excellence
Distributed operations with a low channel density and a small number of functions require simple, compact I/O units with an integrated bus connection. This makes it possible to minimize cable lengths, to reduce service time using integrated diagnostics, and to save on installation costs.
Openness to standard bus systems, such as INTERBUS, Profibus, DeviceNet and CANopen, allows future-oriented field installation with IP65/67 protection.

Fieldline Modular - Flexible installation with IP65/67 protection
Fieldline Modular offers a cost-effective and high-performance alternative for complex I/O functions and multiple channel bundling.
Bus couplers for standard bus systems, such as INTERBUS, Profibus, DeviceNet and CANopen allow flexible and simple connection to almost every network.
The powerful Fieldline local bus supports spatial extensions up to 20 m in order to reduce installation costs. The revolutionary SPEEDCON connection system reduces installation time to a minimum by up to 90%.

AS interface - The intelligent installation concept
AS-Interface sets new standards in the automation of system concepts with provision for extension. AS-Interface allows drastic reductions in costs for the installation, planning, and maintenance of machines and plants. AS-Interface reduces installation costs by replacing the error-prone and complicated parallel cabling with a single two-wire cable. The AS-Interface cable connects the sensors and actuators that are distributed in the field while simultaneously supplying the individual devices with power and information.
The devices are simply connected by snapping them onto the yellow AS-Interface flat-ribbon cable. Reliable contacting is guaranteed by the standardized AS-Interface penetration technique. This technique, together with the related elimination of complicated cable ducts, reduces installation for you considerably.
