Power over Ethernet

For the first time, the industry-capable Power over Ethernet modules enable the common transmission of power and data in the industrial environment via an Ethernet connection (LAN). The Power over Ethernet Standard IEEE  802.3 af is used for this. Termination devices, such as WLAN and Bluetooth access points, IP telephones and IP cameras, that are being increasingly used in industrial areas, can be connected quickly and economically.

During assembly at places difficult to access, such as walls or ceilings, separate supply connection can be eliminated; power and data are available through the LAN connection.
The investment costs for power supply units and the associated installation costs for power supply of end devices can be completely saved. Even the fault tolerance of the end devices can be increased by using a central uninterrupted power supply (UPS).
PoE can be connected both via an independent module as a midspan device, as well as by integrating in the modular managed switch.
