OPERATIONS - Production Supervisor - Second Shift
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adherence to product quality using IPC 610 soldering standards for both Thru-hole production as well as SMT production
- Adherence to product quality using IPC 7711/7721 soldering standards for both Thru-hole and SMT production
- Ability to handle both Electrical and Mechanical work centers
- Test electronics units, using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment.
- Meets production requirements by following and enforcing safety, productivity, quality, cost, and customer standards; resolving operational problems.
- Reduce cycle-time by deploying Lean Manufacturing techniques in assigned area.
- Coordinate and participate in Kaizen Events
- Establish and maintain maintenance programs on all machinery in assigned area
- Ability to implement Statistical Process Control procedures
- Sets work priorities within the work area.
- Follows training plan outlined for specific area
- Updates production management on work order status.
- General housekeeping and organization of the work center area.
- Completes all associated documentation and corrective action requests.
- Develop human resources by orienting, training, coaching, and enforcing company policies and procedures.
- Attends design reviews as required
- Conduct interviews as required
- Track employee / intern / temporary help efficiencies in assigned areas.
- Fosters participation and teamwork by encouraging employees and soliciting input to process changes
- Insure that all paperwork and procedures associated with ISO 9001, 14001, and OHSAS 18001 are followed and completed.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing improvements in assigned area; such as 5S events, process mapping, and continuous improvement roadmaps.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 - 5 years supervisory experience in manufacturing/production environment
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of IPC 610 solder standards
- Strong knowledge of IPC 7711/7721 soldering standards
- Strong knowledge of Surface Mount Assembly
- Strong ability to generate test procedures including (Hi-pot and continuity test)
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong organization skills
- Experience in working with and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and comprehend English written assembly prints
- Familiarity with pneumatic tools and fixtures
- Ability to coach, lead, and direct others in a production environment
- Strong computer knowledge, and efficient in MS-Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
- Knowledge of business e-mail and calendaring system
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to work overtime periods including weekends to meet production demands.
- Must be willing to be moved into various work centers in order to meet production requirements or where skills best serve department and company goals.
- Must pass an English literacy test or complete the necessary training and show improvement in English skills including, reading, writing, and comprehension within 180 days after accepting the position.
- Must pass standardized Print Reading / Measurement test or go through a Print Reading / Measurement class and then pass the test with a grade of 80% or higher within 120 days after accepting the position.
- Must obtain a 50% on standardized Job Skills test on initial try. If less than 50% is achieved candidate cannot apply for the position. Above 50% but below 80% training will be provided within 120 days. 80% must be achieved within 120 days.
- Must pass an IPC 610 Class 2 registered training course
- Must be able to sit or stand for a period of at least 2 hours
- Job requires lifting or moving of containers weighing up to a maximum of 50 lbs
- Attendance in accordance with company policies.
- Able to use pallet jack with 300 pound load.
- Able use portable staircase and climb to 12 foot heights.
- Able to carry 20 pound / 3cubic feet boxes up and down portable staircase.
- Able to push 4-wheeled cart with 100 pound load.
- Able to walk or drive between Phoenix Contact buildings at 301 and 586 Fulling Mill Road.
- Ability to drive or fly to distant supplier, customer, or mandatory training session and stay overnight for periods of up to a week
- Core hours worked are 3:15pm to 11:45pm
