REGIONAL BUSINESS UNIT - Automation - Network Test Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Test case design, lab bench setup, test execution, analysis and debugging during the product development phase.
  • Develop new test cases for newly added functionality and execute regression tests to verify existing functionality.
  • Functional, stress, performance and interoperability testing for Industrial Ethernet switches and 802.11 radio products.
  • Provide developer with detailed information regarding the issues identified during testing and work closely with engineering on the resolution.
  • Work in a cross-functional team environment with significant interaction with other Test engineers, Firmware developers, Hardware designers and Solution Engineers.
  • Technical contact for Pilot applications and proof of concept's in Industrial Ethernet Switch based applications.
  • Responsibilities also include providing functionality and capability reports of Industrial switch products to the Marketing and Service Support force.
  • Evaluation and qualification of Prototype and final Products. 
  • Provide second level technology support on Industrial Ethernet Switch and Wireless products for internal technical support groups.
  • Product and application-level qualification tests to analyze failure reports.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS degree in the area of specialty and at least 2 years of experience in the field, or two year engineering degree with more than six years experience in the field
  • Lab experience with test equipment including oscilloscopes, network equipment, including common data generation and analysis equipment (SmartBits,IXIA,Chariot etc.) is required
  • Experience in LAN and Wireless networks, SNMP,QoS, IP multicasting, L2/L3 protocols including knowledge of : ARP, BPDU, IP, TCP, UDP, RSTP, DHCP, VLAN and IGMP preferred
  • Experience in Configuring CISCO routers, switches and firewalls is a plus
  • Experience in Secure protocols: IPsec, SSL, RADIUS authentication is a plus
  • Experience in automating Wireless/RF tests and measurements is a plus
  • CCNA, CCSP, CCNP or equal Ethernet certifications would be beneficial 
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
