ENGINEERING - Mechanical Design Engineer
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Innovative Connector / Contact / Product Design using new concepts, materials & methods
- Complete responsibility for Design Projects.
- Calculate costing on proposed products.
- Work with vendors to obtain pricing information.
- Advise customers on environmental performance capabilities of connectors.
- Interface directly with customers to obtain & fulfill product requirements.
- Work with Product Marketing and Manufacturing on new products.
- Design using company procedures in ISO 9001 environment.
- Willingness to do other electrical and mechanical design tasks as needed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3 or more years of design experience with Electrical Products.
- Must have track record of Innovative designs (Patents etc.)
- Design Experience in Plastic Injection Molding required
- Must have Recent 3D Solid Modeling experience
- Must be familiar with manufacturing techniques
- Basic electrical knowledge Required.
- Must be eligible to receive US passport.
- Experience with Stamped & plated metal components preferred
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Must be able to travel by air.
- Occasional overseas travel for extended periods required.
- Occassional Domestic Travel required.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
