ENGINEERING - Mechanical Designer
RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:
- Perform various 2D Drawing & 3D Solid Modeling tasks
- Create New Product Designs from Engineering Concepts
- Create Variants of existing parts
- Create Manufacturing & Customer drawings
- Perform Tolerance Analysis when required
- Calculate pricing on proposed products.
- Work with vendors to obtain pricing information.
- Evaluate environmental performance capabilities of connectors.
- Maintain pertinent design documentation in an ISO 9001 environment.
- Maintain Rev Control using Phoenix Contact document management system
- Willingness to do other electrical and mechanical design tasks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be eligible to receive US passport.
- Thorough Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5M-1994) Required.
- AS Degree or higher Required in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2 Years Design experience in Plastic Molding required.
- Connector Design experience helpful.
- CAD experience a must, AutoCAD Experience preferred.
- 2 Years experience in 3D Solid Modeling required, Solidworks Preferred
- Basic electrical knowledge required.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to ride in a car for 6 hours at a time.
- Ocassional Overseas travel required.
- Must be able to travel by Air.
- Must be able to communicate in English (written & verbal).
