Phoenix Contact ensures meeting statutory, regulatory and agency requirements that apply to our products processes and activities.
Our process-oriented management system takes into account not only legislation and standards, but also customers' wishes for the manufacture of our products.

Phoenix Contact Standards Engineering actively participates in agency and regulatory technical committee activities related to our industry.  Standards Engineering develops processes for applicable international agency and regulatory product approvals, such as for UL, UL 508, FM, TüV, CSA, CE and Ex-(for explosive atmosphere use), including marking. 

Phoenix Contact promotes policies dedicated to the economic use of materials and energy resources.  We maintain a safe work environment for our employees and community.

We actively demonstrate a responsible attitude toward the use of natural resources to benefit employees, business partners and the environment.

Our Integrated Management Systems include a formal Quality, Environmental and Safety program that meets International Standards Organization's (ISO) requirements (ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:1999).

    Phoenix Contact has pollution prevention processes in place to meet or exceed our environmental health and safety policies.

    • Chemicals used at Phoenix Contact are controlled through the following processes:
      Environmental Health and Safety process controls include planning and assessment, inspection, inventory control, proper handling, storage, housekeeping and spill control.
    • Hazardous Materials and Communication, also Hazardous Material Waste:
    • Material Safety Data Sheets are received with chemicals from manufacturers and distributors. These material safety data sheets are used to train employees using the chemicals. This training also includes interested parties working in areas where chemicals are used.
    • Other pollution prevention processes include Energy Efficiency, Recycled Pounds and Environmental Hazardous Waste Disposal, which are trended by management as corporate performance measurements.
