The FL mGuard line is the ideal solution for adding higher level "Layer 3" Ethernet network and security functions, and secure remote connectivity to industrial applications. The FL mGuard products are rugged, industrially rated security devices whose core functions include a stateful firewall, routing, NAT'ing and VPN. Using the FL mGuard RS allows migration of these tasks, which were once solely in the realm of the IT 19" rack closer to the industrial application.

The line includes FL mGuard RS DIN rail-mount versions as well as PCI card versions for integration into industrial PCs. The RS line has variants including a Router-only version (RS -B), as well as versions with integrated analog modems or ISDN connections.
